One Voice, One Heart – Singing Hope in Harmony

On July 20, 2025, the Carmelite Monastery in Margao, Goa, joyfully hosted Choir Day, bringing together all associated choirs for an evening of praise, prayer, and fellowship. Guided by the inspiring theme “One Voice, One Heart – Singing Hope in Harmony,” the celebration echoed the biblical spirit of worship found in 2 Chronicles 5:13 and Nehemiah 12, where unified song ushered in God’s presence. Guests were welcomed with hot snacks and refreshments, after which they drew colourful tags assigning them to vibrant teams—Judah Beats, Trumpets of Jericho, Dove Notes, and Red Sea Sharps—fostering fun, friendly competition.

The evening opened with a spiritually rich prayer service, “Hearts in Harmony,” led by Fr. Don Tony OCD and the postulants. This was followed by a meaningful session by Fr. Anthony Dsouza OCD, Lead of the Carmelite Choir Ministry, who emphasised the true purpose of worship: “It’s ministry, not performance. It’s about God, not us.” He also encouraged choirs to embody best practices rooted in gratitude, reverence, and unity, reminding them that worship is a lifestyle and each member is a participant, not a spectator. The Thanksgiving session followed, with choir leaders offering heartfelt messages of gratitude, and a moving address echo of gratitude by Fr. Marlon Rodrigues OCD, Prior of the Monastery.

The celebration continued with energetic action songs—including the infectious “Pake tu et tu et papa”—led by Fr. Marlon and Fr. Don Tony, igniting joy across the crowd. A series of games and spot prizes kept the atmosphere lively and collaborative.

Fr. Diago Proenca OCD led grace before the meal, after which participants enjoyed a sumptuous dinner lovingly arranged by Fr. Santhosh Menezes OCD. The entire event, from prayer to laughter, was beautifully captured by the postulants and Fr. Kiran Lobo OCD. Choir Day 2025 was more than an event—it was a verse in a continuing journey of worship, community, and harmony in Christ.
