On the occasion of Pastors Day, the Carmelite Monastery joyfully celebrated and thanked the priests who guide and serve the faithful with love and dedication. The day also commemorated the feast of Saint John Marie Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, known for his deep humility, powerful preaching, and tireless ministry in the confessional.
A solemn Holy Mass at 9:00 AM was celebrated by Fr Anthony Dsouza OCD, Fr Don Tony OCD, and Fr Kiran Lobo OCD. During the homily, Fr Anthony reflected on the lives of inspiring saints—St Ignatius of Loyola, St Alphonsus Liguori, St John Marie Vianney, and St Dominic Savio—highlighting their spiritual impact and reminding the faithful how the witness of saints shapes our lives today.
A spiritual bouquet was offered during the offertory, symbolizing the love, prayers, and gratitude of the community for their priests.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, all the priests gathered to cut a celebratory cake before lunch, surrounded by smiles and applause.
The Carmelite catechists and their families then hosted a warm and lively fellowship. A variety of homemade dishes were shared joyfully, followed by an afternoon of engaging games—some that required action and others that tested the mind. Fr Santhosh excelled in the quiz game, while Br Dilchand won the ring toss action game.
Adding a sweet personal touch, a few 7th standard catechism students presented handwritten letters to the Carmelite priests who inspired them most. These were lovingly handed over while everyone enjoyed dessert, making the moment even sweeter.
The celebration beautifully captured the spirit of priesthood and community, as the Catechism Ministry and the Carmelite priests came together in gratitude, fellowship, and faith.
