On 24th August 2025, the Margao Deanery hosted its annual Deanery Catechetical Programme, Bhorvanxeachim Kirnam at Cristo Rei Hall, Sonsoddo. The event began at 3:00 PM and brought together catechism students, teachers, and parish communities for an afternoon of faith, creativity, and joyful participation.

Highlights of the Programme

Saint Enactment
One of the key attractions was the Saint Enactment, where children dressed as saints and portrayed their lives of faith and courage. The performance gave the audience a chance to reflect on the role models the Church offers in every generation.
Poster Making Competition – “Hope Does Not Disappoint Us”
A poster-making competition was held on the theme “Hope does not disappoint us”. Children expressed their creativity and faith through art, showing how hope in Christ continues to inspire young believers today.
Gospel Enactment
The programme also featured a Gospel enactment of the Psalms, where students brought scripture to life through drama and expression. This interactive presentation helped deepen the children’s understanding of the Word of God.
Carmelites Shine Through Participation
The Carmelite catechism children of Margao Monastery actively participated in the programme, contributing with enthusiasm and creativity in each activity. Their involvement reflected the strong catechetical formation and the encouragement of their teachers and parish mentors.
Organisers and Leadership
The ACAS team organised the entire event under the guidance and leadership of Rev Fr. Melvin Anthony Gomes. Their meticulous planning ensured a smooth and meaningful programme for all participants.
The Dean of the Margao Deanery Rev Fr Dominic, also expressed his gratitude to everyone present. In his message, he not only thanked the students, parents, and organisers but also encouraged the catechism community to continue nurturing the faith of children through such formative gatherings.
Building Faith Through Community
The Bhorvanxeachim Kirnam 2025 proved to be more than just a competition or performance—it was a celebration of faith, hope, and community. Events like these strengthen the spiritual foundation of catechism students and remind the faithful that “Hope does not disappoint us.”
